Gus took this series of gulls in flight at the Salisbury Beach State Reservation in Massachusetts on January 22, 2011. He used the Nikon D80 and a 18-200mm lens. I hope you enjoy your birdy skies this weekend! Be sure to click on the Skywatch Friday link to see what everyone else is seeing.

  1. Gulls are great for filling the sky with wings and feathers. A great series of shots from Gus.

Hope all is well and you were not affected too much by the prevalent blizzards.

  2. Looks like a cold, crisp, but beautiful day at Salisbury Beach! I'm missing my winter birds, but not the cold wind blowing off the ocean. Have a great day. ~karen

  3. Although gulls are not a favorite of mine, mostly because I am totally innept at identifying them, I do think they are very lovely in flight.

  5. Love all the action! I have never seen gulls in the snow, before. Likely because so much of the water freezes here in the winter...
