Merrimack River Sunset

12-2-11 The mouth of the Merrimack River

The mouth of the Merrimack River 12-2-11 Salisbury Beach State Reservation in Massachusetts

Gus and I went in search of Snowy Owls at Salisbury Beach State Reservation today. Snowy Owls are irrupting all over the USA according to eBird and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Within 5 minutes of our arrival we spotted someone with a spotting scope trained right on the bird! Life Bird number 420 for me! Thought the bird was too distant for good shots with my lens, I did capture a white lump on a log in the marsh area which is really the owl but not a very good picture. Still, it’s proof!
