Pink Fire in the Sky

1. DSC_0805-kab The Last Sunset of Monsoon 2012 on September 13

As a single thundercloud moved over the valley I happened to go out onto my balcony and saw this! I quickly grabbed my camera and started snapping. The sky looked as if it were on aflame with the color pink! It was brief, but breathtaking while it lasted. This is just one of the perks of being back in Tucson!

  4. Amazing!! Your thumbnail photo on the SkyWatch Friday page really caught my eye - with those three bands of color, it looked like a flag! I've never seen a sunset quite like it!

And I love the soft lavender cloud that started it all - what a contrast to the bold coloring the sky took on as the sun set!

  11. Kathie, we're glad you had your camera with you too! That was a sky most definitely worth sharing! (And it seems to me that the really breathtaking skies are usually the most fleeting!)

In answer to your question, I lived in Kennebunk during my last three years of high school. My dad is a native New Englander, my mother a Montana native, so I've always had my heart in both New England and the Rockies. Where in Maine did you live?
