Mom Update: As many of you know, my Mom fought breast cancer 3 years ago and survived. Ever since then she gets her yearly mammogram and all has been well until this year when they discovered a lump in her other breast. This prompted my quick trip to Connecticut so I could take her to her biopsy. Of course, we all hoped it would be nothing but the pathology came back as malignant. However, this is not the return of her former cancer, but a new cancer altogether. We are still awaiting further test results before we know what the course of treatment and the prognosis will be. I have a feeling there will be more trips to Colchester and more often in my future. I will keep you updated when I know more.
I snapped the photo below of mom just before I left. As always, she is facing everything with a positive attitude and lots of prayer. The picture is not very clear, but you can certainly see her smile and feel her strong spirit!
Good luck to your mother, and to you, Kathie, as supporting someone through a difficult time isn't easy.
