10. flowers-kab Flowers from Gus for our 35th Anniversary yesterday!

Note: All photos were taken today in my apartment or yard. Bird species are House Sparrows, White-breasted Nuthatch, European Starling fledglings, Gray Catbird, and Northern Cardinal. My yard is full of begging baby birds and their exhausted parents!

  1. Lucky Gus! Happy anniversary, and thanks for blogging among us!

  2. Happy Anniversary Kathie! Your flowers are gorgeous. It is fun seeing all the baby birds around the yard. Happy Birding!

    1. Thanks Eileen! The roses were a much appreciated surprise! And yes, the baby birds are fun AND noisy!

  3. Hi Kathie

    This was a very fun post and you have quite the collection of feeders.

    All the best.

  4. Hi Katie...Cute post...using the birds to show how your feeling is very clever ; }
    I have been so bad the past couple of weeks with my bird count I need to get busy with it again too!!
    Your flower are gorgeous ...Gus has good taste : }
    Happy late Anniversary wishes!!
    Is that round metal ball feeder with the cardinal in it Raccoon proof ..lol!!

    1. Grace, thanks! It was one of those things that just seemed to come together! I do not know if that globe feeder is raccoon proof as I have not had to deal with any. It helps deter squirrels and larger, peskier birds like grackles, pigeons and doves but they still manage to find ways to get some seed out of it. Still, it is one of my favorites and I have dragged it around 3 different states so far!

  5. The flowers are beautiful and the birds are comical.

  6. Happy 35th Anniversary! We recently had our 43rd! Glad you are back and can blog again! This was a very charming post and so apropos!

    1. Marie, 43! Wow! That's great! And Thanks! I did have fun putting this post together.

  7. I understand how you feel. Sometimes it just takes a while to recover from your life!

  8. I can sympathize. Take time to relax a little and get your mind & soul settled. Loved your use of the pictures to tell you story!

    1. Kathryn, it won't be long before it all gets crazy again!

Welcome to my nest! I hope you will enjoy spending time here with me and the birds. Thank you for your comments. I will try to get back to you as soon as I get back from counting more birds.
