What winter sky can I reach,
what solitude have I
on this sunny day,
this cold day in winter
when no birds sing?
Yet at each branch tip
in buds tightly wrapped,
red against a cerulean sky,
I see the promise of spring.

Very nice sky and words.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend & happy SWF!
Goodness gracious, what a startlingly blue sky!
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't been around lately, things have been rather torrid around here.
Hugs and Blessings . . . Arija
Beautifully said. Nice to see signs of spring even when there's still a blanket of white.
ReplyDeleteNice words and pretty color to the sky.I should have read this post before commenting on your most recent post-we'rethinking along the same lines.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely verse to accompany that beautiful, if not stark, photograph! I know how winters can be in New England all too well, but I promise you that spring is just around the corner! ~karen
