Winter Solitude Sky

DSC_0017 Stirling Bog 1-16-11

What winter sky can I reach,

what solitude have I

on this sunny day,

this cold day in winter

when no birds sing?

Yet at each branch tip

in buds tightly wrapped,

red against a cerulean sky,

I see the promise of spring.

  2. Goodness gracious, what a startlingly blue sky!

Sorry I haven't been around lately, things have been rather torrid around here.

    Hugs and Blessings . . . Arija

  3. Beautifully said. Nice to see signs of spring even when there's still a blanket of white.

  5. What a lovely verse to accompany that beautiful, if not stark, photograph! I know how winters can be in New England all too well, but I promise you that spring is just around the corner! ~karen
